Well, its official…..we had our first outing that was definitely not MG weather.

Wow, did it rain

.But that’s OK, as everyone who showed up still had a smile on their faces.  And it wasconsidering the weather, a great attendance. There on hand, Berbermeyers, Jim Buell, Fords, Ganos. (Happy Birthday, Claudia), Gibsons, Greenings, Grundys, Don Martine, Pattersons, Spanenbergs, Weaver, guest Mickey Kapp and even our old club member David Whorf came to join in and of course, Judy & Bruce Obbink, Pat and John Whittaker. There to assist at Paul Woudenberg’s was Mike O’Connor. All in all some 26 members and guests arrived slightly damp, but in great spirits.

The restaurant worked out just wonderfully, and as a club, we had the whole right side to ourselves. The food was suburb, and the service seemed above standard. It is fun, to try new places and new things, and this was a great way to start off 2005. The California Pizza Kitchen in Del Monte Shopping Center got a 5 star review for sure.

Paul’s garage was a big wondrous toy shop for all the guys.  It was so very nice of him to share with all of us.  And we thank him and of course wish him the best of luck in the Woudenberg’s new adventure. Many items seemed to tickle the guys, and quite a few purchases were being made. Tom & Claudia found a treasure in a power Roto tiller for their property.  With that purchase, they would take the prize for the largest by far. Paul had an assortment of Ford and MG parts, all different kinds of waxs and washes, nuts, bolts, oil cans, tools of every sort & size. It was truly amazing and quite a sight.

Again, thanks Paul for your generous sharing of time and effort, and the charitable contribution being made for the sales of your items. We all greatly appreciated it.

Now, just a quick note on our next outing.

Saturday, May 7th will be our Treasure Hunt here in Pebble Beach. We will ask all who are interested in participating in the Treasure Hunt/Lunch (or just the Lunch alone) to please make an early commitment. Due to the extensive amount of work involved in putting this together, we must have all commitments in prior to April 18th.

We will be meeting at the Pebble Beach Indian Village at 11AM, and the event will probably end at approx. pm. In addition to the actual treasure hunt, there will be a contest for the best Pirate Costume (which may or may not include your car). Also for all those participating in the Treasure Hunt….we need a name for your vessel (car) in hopefully a pirate theme. Example:  Whittaker’s little red TC is “Tinker – bell”,  Bruce & Judy’s blue TC is “HMS The Flying Dutchman”.  So put your thinking caps on and get creative here.  We will get you all additional information very quickly.

Guys, this is going to be a lot of fun. Don’t miss it.
